LG delivers Arena KM900 in a compact box. This package depicts around five LG Arena phones displaying different screen shots of the new interface. The box itself closes with a magnet and is quite straightforward and neat. Upon opening the box, LG KM900 Arena is visible right away. The LG mobile phone looks beautiful. The size is perfect, just like its weight. The front is silver (shiny) and in addition to the touchscreen monitor, it also features three touch buttons.

Furthermore, there are only four buttons on the LG smartphone the on and off button, the camera shortcut and the volume buttons. Along with the LG Arena cell phone, a data cable, a headset, a battery charger, a software CD and several instruction manuals are packed in the box. The year 2008 was very successful for LG Mobile. Not only thanks to the worldwide sales of 100 million mobile phones, but also because of having conquered a significantly larger market share.

As a result of the high sales numbers, LG has now surpassed Motorola and is well on its way to reach a solid Top 3 ranking. And with the many product introductions announced by LG Electronics, this aim may well become reality. The announced cooperation with Windows Mobile shows that LG has definitely gone into a different direction, together with the new LG user interface, it will suit everybody’s needs.

The coming three years, some 50 introductions of LG phones with Windows Mobile are scheduled. And the fact that Windows Mobile will launch a new version in the market later this year ensures the expectations are sky high. The menu of the LG Arena has changed drastically, thanks to the new S-Class User Interface. The changes are positive by all means. Not only is it beautifully designed from a graphical viewpoint, but it is also easy to work with and proves remarkably smooth.

There are four start windows Shortcuts, Widgets, Contacts and Multi media. These start screens can be changed by moving them, which will make the screen rotate like a cube. Or you can use the middle touch key to do so. A rotating 3D cube will be displayed, at which you can choose the desired screen. Furthermore, there are four shortcuts below the start screen at all times, a keypad to select a phone number, messages, phone list and the menu button.

For a 15 inch laptop, the Satellite A205-S4617 looks and feels fairly slim, especially compared with bulkier mainstream systems such as the Dell Inspiron E1505. The A205s design lends it a more sophisticated look than that of the typical 15 inch laptop, such as the Inspiron E1505 or Toshibas own Satellite A135-S4467.

The most striking feature is the single, long hinge that runs almost the entire length of the display and feels sturdier than the typical two hinge setup on most laptops. The dark blue speckled lid has a high gloss coating that makes it especially prone to fingerprints and smudges. The systems slightly beveled edges make it seem slimmer than it is, although it does weigh nearly half a pound less than the Dell E1505 (and a little more than the A135).

At just less than 7 pounds with the AC adapter, its right at the weight that we wouldnt want to carry it around in a shoulder bag more than once in a while. The 15.4 inch wide screen LCD display offers a 1,280x800 native resolution, which is standard for a screen this size and the same as the Toshiba A135.

This provides for text and icons that are highly readable, and the screen is bright and stands out against the black screen bezel. Blue LED lights on the front edge give you updates about battery status and hard drive activity, while a row of media control buttons (play or pause and so on) sit above the keyboard, between the stereo speakers.

The speakers have a Harman Kardon logo next to them, which would seem to indicate a better quality audio experience than standard laptop speakers. The sound quality indeed seemed bright and less brittle than typical laptop speakers although some of that may be a placebo effect from the high end logo.

The 10 megapixel PowerShot SD880 IS Digital Elph is the follow up to the popular SD870 IS, and what a worthy successor it is. Its capable of producing truly excellent pictures for a camera of its size and it has nice components for a sub $300 model including a wide angle lens and optical image stabilization. There are a couple weaknesses, but nothing that keeps it from being an excellent point and shoot camera.

At 6.3 ounces and measuring 3.7 inches wide by 2.2 inches high by 0.9 inch deep, itll fit more comfortably in a pants or coat pocket than a shirt pocket, but its by no means big. Compared with the SD870 IS, the SD880 IS has the latest version of Canons image processing engine, Digic 4, jumps from 8 megapixels to 10, and offers a few more scene modes. The 4x f2.8-5.8 28-112mm lens is a highlight of the camera the wide angle is so nice to have on a camera this small, and its a tad longer zoom than on the SD870.

It also records video using the H.264 codec instead of Motion JPEG. The directional pad is pretty standard; instead its the thumb dial that adds interest here. In SCN mode, the dial is used for rifling through your options. Its also used for swapping between Auto and Program in Shooting mode and tone control in Video. It works well, but you can barely feel stops when spinning the dial making it just a little too easy to switch out of whichever mode you want.

The dial can be used for navigating Menu settings, too. Overall, I like the key design and wheel, but I can also see it confusing new users to the point of frustration. The buttons have a pillowy, convex shape, which is not only attractive, but makes for unmistakable presses. The Print and Share button can be turned into a shortcut key to access one of nine shooting functions. As for performance, the SD880 IS is fractionally slower than the first rate SD870 IS.

Time to first shot is 1.2 seconds and you can shoot again in 1.9 seconds. Shutter lag was great just 0.4 second in bright conditions and 0.8 in dim. The only marked decrease in speed is if youre using the flash. The shot to shot time extends to 3.2 seconds, which is a generally slow time and nearly a second longer than the SD870 IS. The typical burst speed is a respectable 1.4 frames per second.

The 3 inch Canon PureColor LCD II performed well in direct light and has a wide viewing angle. More impressive than the SD880 ISs speed is the picture quality. Colors were always natural and vibrant. White balance was accurate and pictures showed good detail and sharpness at ISO 200 and below. Also, if you take a lot of landscape photos, note that the SD880 IS is prone to fringing. Video is better than average considering it tops out at 640x480.

The cooler than cool Panasonic Pro AG-HMC150 drew big crowds at the 2008 NAB Show. Why? Simply because it offers an unheard of Bang for the Buck, in a 1/3 inch three chip hand held tapeless HD camcorder, while retaining the core versatility of the DVX100B. Panasonic Pro AG-HMC150 sports a 28mm lens right out of the box and a new PH Record mode (21 Mbps) which offers higher resolution with a host of recording formats including 24p.

Add to that, amazing low light performance, long record and battery time and professional Audio capabilities at a price that will make it an instant hit with a wide range of AV Shooters, Indie creators and Event video professionals. Panasonic Pro AG-HMC150 represents a major step forward in the introduction of a next generation solid state HD camera that extends the six year successful track record of the popular DVX100 plus a lot more.

Panasonic Pro AG-HMC150’s lightweight (lightest 1/3 inch 3CCD available), well balanced professional design features a high performance wide angle Leica 13X zoom lens, 24 and 30 frame progressive capture, both in 720 and 1080 formats, making it perfect for even high level projects. Designed from a clean sheet of paper with much customer input to Panasonics product development engineers, Panasonic Pro AG-HMC150 sports a Die Cast Alloy chassis and a Three year warranty (upon customer registration) that further endorses its reliability.

Using the latest in compression technology (AVC High Profile) and widely available SD memory cards as the recording media, Panasonic Pro AG-HMC150 is as easy to use as a digital still camera. The content recorded on the SD card can be directly played on a growing number of affordable consumer players, including select models of Playstation 3, Blu-ray players, plasma screens and PC’s. With most NLE systems now supporting AVCHD, content can be edited and rendered to play in any type of SD or HD playback system.

Dynamic Range Stretch
With DRS ON your customer can capture better Video quality when shooting bright, halftone and dark objects in the same frame. (Bride’s white gown details and the Groom’s shades of tuxedo black.) This clever circuit estimates the gamma curve and knee slope of each pixel’s brightness and applies the estimate on a real time basis. The result is more accurate Video with a visually wider dynamic range.

Features
  • Full range of HD formats : 1080/60i, 1080/30p, 1080/24p (Native); 720/60p, 720/30p, 720/24p (Native)
  • Higher bit-rate recording than consumer models (21 Mbps PH Mode)
  • Three latest design 1/3 inch CCD Progressive Imagers

Panasonic announced the TC-PG10 series at CES, we immediately knew it would go up against the Kuro in our lab. What we didnt know is that Pioneer would stop producing HDTVs, leaving the hill wide open for anybody to claim the kings throne. Panasonic G10 series is the new king. No, its not as good overall as the soon to be extinct Kuro Elite, but it comes closer than ever in the arena of black level performance, and mounts a good fight in just about every other field of picture quality, with the exception of some color accuracy issues.

Panasonic steeped the G10 in extra features compared with its less expensive brethren, adding a THX mode thats largely responsible for its excellent picture, along with VieraCast for access to a limited range of Internet extras. The downside, as always, is that it costs significantly more than lower end models, but if youre looking for the best picture quality in a post Kuro world. The Panasonic TC-PG10 series is the safest bet so far this year.

The 46 inch model, the TC-P46G10 ($1,699 street price), but our remarks on picture quality also apply to at least two other models in the series, the 42 inch TC-P42G10 ($1,299) and the 50 inch TC-P50G10 ($1,999) all three share identical specifications except screen size. The largest model in the series, the TC-P54G10, also shares similar specifications, but the screen size difference is great enough to warrant another hands on evaluation when that model becomes available.

Over the festive period a few interesting flash sales were going on, and while we dont get sent much in the way of audio to review here, I thought Id "invest" into a sound bar for my Samsung TV (which has the worst audio of any TV I have used). Luckily for me up popped the LG 2530A on Amazon, and I lumped on.

As normal with Amazon the delivery was super fast.

I really love audio and HiFi, and Im very fussy about what gets to abuse my ears for hours on end, so with that in mind lets move on.

The system is as wide as the 42" TV I have and sits just underneath without obscuring the panel, I can even squeeze in a PS4 camera on top too, so the height is just about right.

Connecting the 2530A up is real easy, however no HDMI present so its just optical or nothing. There is Bluetooth and a 3.5mm input too come to think of it, something we may use with +ROCKI when it arrives. There is also an active sync feature if you have an LG TV.

The TV needs to be told where to shove the audio too, as the PS4 did as well. You can flick between the optical audio channel by using the button on the remote. Talking of which can also double up as a TV remote, though limited in function.

You can adjust the built in "Woofer" via the remove, which you will need to do alot, I could never really settle on the best audio profile for the TV output, since the Samsung voice output was dire I seemed to use the "Clearvoice" profile 90% of the time with the Woofer turned up to 6, which is the maximum, not sure why LG settled on 6 - but there you go.

Without the Woofer the LG Sound Bar would be flat, I mean its not got a bad sound but without the bass ramped up it would be just better than the TV speakers, but it saves an otherwise poor performance.

3D Sound Profile does give a more spacious surround than the TV did and the top facing sub woofer certainly helps to push the bass round the room (yes I know bass is non-directional) however it works best on gaming with the PS4. Hearing the roar of a Ferrari or an Alfa Romeo re-verb around the room does bring out a smile when playing Need for Speed.

Night mode is very good for late night movie watching, the sound is pretty clear and precise with the DRC enabled without waking up the kids.

What LG have made is half decent low/mid sound bar just over entry level I guess, but remember this bar is a little long in the tooth now and some replacements are due. So what holds it back from being a great sound bar ?

A few niggles I guess, but remember this bar is less than £140 / $200 at most retailers now.

Firstly the plastics, jeez they scratch so easy, then to make matters worse LG have stuck stickers on with superglue, which means you WILL mark it up removing them. My advice is purchase some plain black stickers from https://www.stickeryou.com/ if you decide to remove the LG ones. This will give the plastic some protection and hide the marks left behind. You will need 2" x 4.24" dimensions or bigger.

Second, I just wish the bass was a bit louder, its not missing, its just lacking a bit of depth. By that I mean its not tin like, just lacks a little. Music does play much better than TV output for sure, which was the opposite of the small amount of reviews I have read about the bar online, but who buys a TV sound bar to listen to music on anyway.

Third and last, the digital display behind the grill cant be "dimmed" - It doesnt bother me so much as Im a good 12-14ft away from my TV but it does have the potential to be distracting. Shame +LG Electronics  didnt include an auto dim or display off feature. If you look at a certain angle you can see the glare it kicks out.

So yes its better than the TV speakers, its no HiFi replacement thats for sure, I miss my old Sony STR DB890 given whats coming out of the LG. Its by no means offensive either if you dont mind have a fiddle with the profiles to get the best for what your watching. Its certainly great for gaming, and quite pleasing for music too.

Its hard not to recommend this sound bar for the price, but as I have said, without the built in sub the sound would be flatter than Keira Knightleys chest. Just dont expect the earth to shake.

Yes, you read correctly, the OUYA external beta has arrived here at IHAG, we hope to give it a test drive shortly.

If there is anything you want us to try out, we are happy to do so, post a comment below and we will get on it as soon as we can.

The details from OUYA HQ....

  • Probably obvious, but just in case: connect your drive using the USB port on the back of the OUYA.
  • L3 from the main menu safely ejects your drive. There may be bugs if you yank the drive without ejecting first (but if you want to be a maverick and do it anyway, feel free to report issues you see).
  • Right now we only recognize 1 external drive at a time, so you won’t be able to put a bunch of drives on a hub and see them all.

  • We support FAT32 and NTFS, but not formats like exFAT.
  • Games on external storage are currently associated with the OUYA they were downloaded from (so you can’t use the storage to transfer a game from one OUYA to another).

  • We expect that you’ll be receiving more system updates as we fix reported issues.
  • We expect USB storage to be fully functional.  You can download games to it, move games to it, play games from it… just use it like a user!

Awesome !

Download Runtime GetDataBack for NTFS & FAT 4.32 Full + Crack

Size 5.08 MB

Runtime GetDataBack for NTFS & FAT 4.32 is a highly advanced data recovery software, which will help you to get your data back when your drive’s partition table, boot record, Master File Table or root directory is corrupt or lost, when a virus has hit the drive, files were deleted, the drive was formatted or struck by a power failure. GetDataBack comes in two flavours, NTFS and FAT depending on what file system you have.

Download Runtime GetDataBack for NTFS & FAT 4.32 Full + Crack

Runtime GetDataBack for NTFS & FAT 4.32 Full + Crack will recover your data if the hard drives partition table, boot record, FAT/MFT or root directory are lost or damaged, data was lost due to a virus attack, the drive was formatted, fdisk has been run, a power failure has caused a system crash, files were lost due to a software failure, files were accidentally deleted. GetDataBack can even recover your data when the drive is no longer recognized by Windows. It can likewise be used even if all directory information – not just the root directory- is missing. GetDataBack can even recover your data when the drive is no longer recognized by Windows. It can likewise be used even if all directory information – not just the root directory- is missing.

Runtime GetDataBack for NTFS & FAT 4.32 Full + Crack - The tool works at partition level and will restore files and folders exactly how they used to be. It recovers data from floppy and ZIP disks, drive images and even remote drives connected by a serial cable or TCP/IP. As the name says, it restores files from FAT/ NTFS disks – file system used by Windows NT/2000/XP, yet works on all Windows systems. Make sure you never install the program on the to-be-recovered drive and you will never lose important data. Advanced algorithms will make sure that all directories and sub directories are put together as they were, and that long file names are reconstructed correctly. GetDataBack is read-only, meaning the program will never attempt to write to the drive you are about to recover. Please make sure to read the safety instructions.

Runtime GetDataBack for NTFS & FAT 4.32 Full + Crack - The software enables the regular user to conduct his own data recovery by guiding him through three easy to understand steps, thus gives the advanced user the possibility to interfere with the recovery and improve the results, by examining the scan log, the file system details, file and directory information, by selecting the sector range to be scanned, by choosing excessive search for file systems or search for lost files, by calling Runtimes DiskExplorer. Recover files over your local network or over a serial cable – This feature enables you to run GetDataBack on one computer (remote) while accessing the drives of another computer (host). Recovering data over a network is useful, especially when you are not able to remove the drive you want to recover from and attach it to another computer.

Xbox 360 has increased their sales 88% in June month. This Microsofts product won the title of best-selling console in June because of its sexy physical redesign. NPD numbers showed that Microsoft shifted 451,700 units in the US, which is more than the Wiis tally of 422,500 and cover-up the PS3s 304,800 numbers.

As Sony US sales were said to have tripled in the immediate aftermath of the new SKUs release so Microsoft might have a little bit of catching up to do yet, but lets not forget that the king of all hardware sales remains the DS, which somehow managed to sell more than half a million devices in June, in spite of the whole world and its dog already owning one.

Last year, we featured a guest post by Jeffery Rosen, of Wolfire Games about the Humble Indie Bundle, an awesome promotion for a good cause: spreading awareness of indie games, and supporting charity. For 12 days, you could name your own price for a bundle of awesome independent games, with proceeds split as you wish between the game developers and two deserving charities, Childs Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. They hosted the Bundle on App Engine, to great effect - read the original blog post to learn more.

The good news is, theyre doing it again, with the same App Engine infrastructure, and a new set of games! Theres only 4 days left, so be sure to check them out if youre interested.

HTC HD2 cell phone specs of the hd2 or droid, comes out first, lower price, gsm, and if it has Windows 6.5 then also be compatible with win7 phone. The sense ui is good, at least allows you to customize ur home screen with something other than 3 or 4 items like shown in the hd2 pictures. Design and construction

This is actually one of the best well built Chinese smartphones that Ive ever reviewed and a perfect clone of HTC Amaze 4G. Now that I was used to a 4" screen smartphone, of course I find it a bit larger (and a little bit heavier), but thats easily forgotten as soon as you start playing with it.

Rather than sink down into its bezel, its display actually rises slightly above it, giving the impression that its coming out at you.

The 3,5 mm headset jack and dedicated power button are located on the top edge. The extra-large volume rocker is placed on the right edge.

The micro-USB port is located on the left edge. I usually prefer to have it at the top or bottom so that I can use the phone -while in charge- without having the cable get in the way.

On the right side of the device there are also shutter press and video record buttons for the camera.

On the back side, we find the 5 megapixels autofocus camera above a dual LED flash.

Getting the back of the phone off is easy, just having to slide the cover up.

The two SIM slots and the microSD slot can only be accessed after removing the battery.

Display quality

This phone features an ASV-LCD from Sharp and its definition is simply amazing.

The colours are vivid and really vibrant on this display. It has excellent viewing angles and is easily readable in direct sunlight.

Functionality

There are not that many changes related to the user interface, given that the stock ROM is still based on Android 2.3. Anyway, for those that havent had any contact with a MT65x3 phone before, here are some screenshots and details of the most important features.

The notification panel provides a fast access for brightness and display timeout setting, enabling or disabling auto rotation, Wi-Fi, BT, GPS and data connection, as well as alternating between sound profiles.

The dialer interface has changed a little bit, although the features are exactly the same. It supports smart dialing feature (can be seen on the second picture) which works perfectly and very fast!

The dial button can immediately start the call when a SIM is set as default for voice calls or open a pop up which lets you choose from which SIM the call should be established.

In call history screen, the list of missed / received / made calls can be checked with the indication of the name of the SIM. In addition, you can filter calls by SIM.

Many options can be set under the dual SIM management menu. The user can edit the name of each SIM and also set the associated background color that will appear in call log as well as in the notification bar (behind the network strength bars).

In the same menu, the user has the possibility to set a default SIM card to establish all outgoing calls (both voice and video) or set it to always ask, thus enabling the pop up that I have referred above (with the options of which SIM card should initiate the call). The same thing can be set for messaging and data connection purposes.

The phone is equipped with proximity, light, gravity and magnetic field (compass) sensors.

It also natively supports portable Wi-Fi hotspot feature, letting the user share data connection over a wireless network.

And just like it happened on previous MediaTek platforms, the feature to schedule power on / off is present. This is a feature that can only be found on very few smartphones.

The phone comes pre-installed with all Google applications, supporting e-mail, contact and calendar syncing. Google Play Store (formerly known as Android Market) works without any problem, providing access for free and paid applications / games.

Adobe Flash support was something that the owners of phones based on the previous MediaTek platform were missing (although there was a modified version for ARMv6 devices that worked more or less well). That is not a problem any more on the new platform, given that MT6575 already features an ARMv7 compliant processor.

Another weakness of the MT65x3 phones was the lack of NEON instruction set support, which didnt allowed Skype video calls (the user was limited to voice calls only). The processor used on the new MT6575 platform now supports it, so the users can enjoy Skypes video-calling feature. Personally, I have already tested it and I must say that it works flawlessly.

In terms of network reception, the phone performs greatly, having successfully passed all the tests that Ive performed. Sound quality is clear enough and microphone quality is good.

Finally, but not less important, it must be mentioned that SIM2 will be reachable even if there is an active data connection established on SIM1. The data connection will be immediately dropped when a new call is incoming from SIM2 and the download will be automatically resumed after the call is over.

MT6575 chipset and benchmarks

MT6575 chipset features a single core 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and a PowerVR SGX531 graphical processor. The difference in terms of speed are easily noticed and the benchmarks prove it. Here you have the results of both ThL V9 and my good "old" G11i Pro (MT6575 versus MT6573).

 ThL V9 benchmark scores

G11i Pro benchmark scores
(stock CPU frequency - 650 MHz)

G11i Pro benchmark scores
(overclocked CPU - 800 MHz)

The differences when compared to MT6573 (the device used for the benchmarks was G11i Pro) are pretty obvious: the benchmark score of ThL V9 is almost twice of G11i Pro (when overclocked to 800 MHz). For a more fair comparison, a friend of mine gently provided the score of his ZTE U960 (which is based on MSM8255 chipset):

ZTE U960 benchmark scores

I was pleasantly surprised to see that MediaTek MT6575 outperforms Qualcomm MSM8255, taking into account that both processors work at the same frequency -1 GHz. What a great job, MediaTek!

Final thoughts

Im really amazed with the performance of this phone. I only wished that I could have tested this phone already running Android 4.0 (there are rumours that a future update will be released given that other competitors are also working on it). Anyway, if you were looking for a fast and stable Dual SIM featuring 3G support, heres your chance.

Just let me finish this review with an advertisement... in order to avoid questions regarding where to buy it from, you can always visit my partner shop (etotalk.com). ThL V9 is available for 229 USD.

Highs:
  • High quality product
  • Good battery life taking into consideration the big screen
  • ARMv7 compliant processor (enabling native support for Adobe Flash and other applications)
Lows:
  • Should have been released out-of-the-box with Android 4.0
